Fluorine Rubber Sheet, also known as FKM (Fluoroelastomer) or commonly by the brand name Viton®, is a premier high-performance elastomeric sealing and gasketing material engineered to deliver unparalleled reliability in the most extreme operating environments. This specialized synthetic rubber is formulated from fluorocarbon-based polymers, creating a molecular structure that provides exceptional resistance to heat, chemicals, and weathering, making it the material of choice for critical sealing applications across demanding industries. The defining characteristic of Fluorine Rubber Sheet is its extraordinary chemical resistance. It exhibits outstanding compatibility with a vast range of aggressive media, including oils, fuels, hydrocarbons, concentrated acids, mineral acids, many organic solvents, and halogenated chemicals, where most other elastomers like Nitrile (NBR) or EPDM would rapidly degrade, swell, or fail. This is complemented by its superior high-temperature stability, with standard grades consistently performing in continuous service from -20°C to +200°C (+392°F), and special formulations extending this range to withstand short-term exposure up to 300°C (572°F) while maintaining seal integrity and mechanical properties. Furthermore, FKM sheets offer excellent resistance to ozone, UV radiation, and weathering, ensuring long-term functionality in outdoor applications without cracking or hardening. It also provides good mechanical properties including tensile strength, compression set resistance, and low gas permeability, which is crucial for containing volatile fluids and vapors. These sheets are manufactured in various grades (such as Standard FKM, FEPM, and specialty perfluoroelastomer FFKM for ultra-aggressive conditions), hardness levels (typically measured in Shore A durometer from 50 to 90), and thicknesses to meet precise engineering specifications. They are available in roll, sheet, or custom die-cut gasket form and are often compounded with additives to enhance processing or specific properties like low-temperature flexibility or improved acid resistance. The primary industrial applications of Fluorine Rubber Sheet are vast and mission-critical. It is indispensable in the automotive and aerospace sectors for fuel system seals, O-rings, valve stem seals, and hose linings. In chemical processing and petrochemical plants, it is used for gaskets, expansion joints, and valve seals handling corrosive fluids. The semiconductor manufacturing industry relies on its high purity and plasma resistance for wafer processing components. Additionally, it serves vital roles in oil and gas exploration (downhole tools, drilling equipment), pharmaceutical manufacturing, and food and beverage processing where high-temperature sterilization is required (using FDA-compliant grades). When selecting a Fluorine Rubber Sheet, key considerations include the specific chemical environment, continuous operating temperature range, required hardness and pressure ratings, and any regulatory standards (e.g., FDA, NSF, ASTM D2000, or MIL Spec). While FKM represents a higher initial cost compared to general-purpose rubbers, its extended service life, reduced downtime, and prevention of catastrophic failure in critical systems deliver a superior total cost of ownership. As a cornerstone of advanced sealing technology, the Fluorine Rubber Sheet stands as an essential engineering solution, providing unmatched security and durability for applications where failure is not an option, ensuring safety, efficiency, and operational continuity in the world's most challenging industrial settings.

  • Industrial Fluorocarbon Rubber

    Industrial Fluorocarbon Rubber

Industrial fluorocarbon rubber is a type of synthetic elastomer that primarily consists of carbon-fluorine bonds. These bonds provide fluorocarbon rubber with distinct physical and chemical properties, making it ideal for use in demanding industrial environments. It is commonly produced through the polymerization of vinylidene fluoride (VDF) and hexafluoropropylene (HFP), resulting in a high-strength, thermoset rubber material.
